Billie Eilish’s New Song “Everything I Wanted” Is About Her Relationship With Her Brother

Billie Eilish drops a melancholy new tune.

If you’ve been searching for a moody, whispery grunge pop track, look no further. Billie Eilish just released “everything I wanted,” a somber song that details the mysterious inner workings of her close relationship with her brother, Finneas. Not sure how to feel about that.

“This song is one my brother and I wrote about each other.” she said. “No matter what happens, we always have been and will be there to make it better.”

It’s a grower. “everything I wanted” creeps up on you like a spider on its prey. It’s subdued, unlike Billie’s massive No. 1 hit, “Bad Guy,” but not as dreary as most of When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

“I had a dream / I got everything I wanted,” she sings under her breath. “Not what you think, and if I’m being honest / It might have been a nightmare to anyone who might care.”

  1. I hate this lower capital lettes in all song names trend, it makes artists look stupid really. Shame on you, Ariana!
But yeah, about the song… That soft but persistent thumping bass at the back makes me happy. And Billie sings like no one else, so keep it up girl!
